For 22 years, Chris Thomas has been opening doors and creating meaningful opportunities for students across Nebo School District. As the Internship Program Manager, she supports students and teachers at Maple Mountain High School, Payson High School, Salem Hills High School, Spanish Fork High School, and Springville High School.
Chris has dedicated more than two decades to helping students connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. The most rewarding part of her role? “Guiding students as they explore career paths they’re excited about and helping them secure internships that bring those goals to life.”
Through her work, students gain confidence, direction, and hands-on experience that prepares them for college, careers, and beyond. Her impact is felt not only in the workplace partnerships she builds, but in the lives of the students she mentors along the way.
Outside of work, Chris loves all things warm water — boating, swimming, snorkeling, water volleyball, and simply floating and enjoying the sunshine. Her favorite place she has visited is the breathtaking Galápagos Islands, a destination known for its incredible wildlife and natural beauty.
When it comes to holidays, the Fourth of July is her favorite — especially when it’s spent camping with friends at Strawberry Reservoir. Fireworks, friendship, and time outdoors make it a tradition she treasures.
If she ever won the lottery? Chris dreams big. She would sail the world on a yacht, stopping at ports around the globe and inviting a local chef onboard in each country to prepare authentic regional cuisine. Adventure, culture, and great food — the perfect combination!
The best advice she’s ever received is something she lives by: “Don’t be afraid to try new things — most regrets come from what you didn’t do, not what you did.”
Nebo School District is grateful for Chris’s 22 years of dedication, passion, and commitment to helping students discover their futures. Her work truly makes a lasting difference.
