Career & Technical Education Month
Happy Career & Technical Education Month!
Career & Technical Education (CTE) provides students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for success after high school. CTE programs combine academic instruction with technical and employability skills, helping students explore career pathways while gaining real-world experience they can apply immediately.
CTE classes are offered in a wide range of career areas, including Agriculture, Business & Marketing, Family & Consumer Sciences, Health Sciences, Information Technology, Engineering & STEM, Skilled & Technical Sciences (such as Welding, Automotive, and Construction), Culinary Arts, and Cosmetology. Many courses offer opportunities for students to earn industry-recognized certifications, college credit, and practical job experience.
An important part of CTE is participation in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). These student leadership organizations reinforce classroom learning and help students develop leadership, teamwork, and career readiness skills. CTSOs include:
FFA – Agricultural Education
FCCLA – Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
SkillsUSA – Skilled and Technical Sciences
HOSA – Health Sciences
DECA – Business, Marketing, Finance, and Entrepreneurship
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America
TSA – Technology Student Association
Educators Rising – Education and Teaching Careers
Throughout CTE Month, we will be highlighting each CTSO and celebrating the incredible CTE specialists here in Nebo who make these opportunities possible. We are grateful for our dedicated teachers and motivated students who help make CTE a pathway to certifications, careers, and lifelong success.
